Dallas Rapper Channel 5 Jdub Shot Dead Gruesome Aftermath Aired On IG Live

Another rising hip-hop star has become a victim of violent crime. Popular Dallas rapper Channel 5 Jdub was killed in a shooting on Monday morning, February 24. He was found in the front yard of a home on the city's Southeast side around 6:30 A.M. with a gunshot to the head and was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police have yet to release a potential motive for the rapper's murder, but words on the street are the shooting was an act by Jdub's rivals. Texas-based Culley Dakid states the shooting stemmed from a beef.
dud, who called himself a Dallas Drill rapper, was on the verge of breaking out as a mainstream artist. He had a strong local fan base, and his music videos often went viral on YouTube.

Jdub's tragic death comes less than a week after rising rapper Pop Smoke was fatally shot during a suspected home invasion in Los Angeles. Masked gunmen reportedly broke into the "Welcome to the Party" hitmaker's Hollywood Hills property in the early hours of Wednesday, February 19, firing multiple shots, striking and critically wounding the 20-year-old. He was rushed to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, but was subsequently pronounced dead.

Following his passing, family of the rap star, whose real name was Bashar Barakah Jackson, is reportedly investigating the incident amid rumors that his shooting was a targeted hit. A source told TMZ that family members have personally questioned friends and witnesses, who were at his home before the shooting, to try to gather evidence. They've also requested access to security footage from the late star's home.

Prior to his death, the musician accidentally shared his address online as he posted footage of a haul of gifts he'd received from brands on his Instagram Stories. In their tribute posts, Nicki Minaj and 50 Cent suggested that Smoke's death was caused by "jealousy."
