The artist behind smash hits for superstars Rihanna and Beyoncé is to appear in Bermuda this weekend.
The-Dream will host and perform at what’s billed as the first official beach party of the year — Purple Kisses at Snorkel Park Beach at Dockyard on Saturday night.
Jah Simmons, of event promoters Multi Entertainment Organization, said: “He really is a star and it’s great we have managed to get him to Bermuda.”
Jah added that it had taken three years of negotiations with agents to secure The-Dream’s appearance on the island.
He said: “We almost got him down here three years ago, but he was on a tour with Jay-Z and that got extended.
“The next year, he was doing a tour of his own when we wanted him.
“We thought for a while we might have to cancel this year too due to his other commitments, but he really wants to come to Bermuda. We were lucky he was available this weekend. It’s going to be a great night.
“We’re making it a ladies’ night — although men are welcome as well, of course — and we’ve got some great DJs with a superb mix of music.
“The theme is purple in honour of his song Purple Kisses — and we’d encourage people to wear it as much as possible.
“The-Dream will be hosting, mingling with the crowd and doing a few songs. He is looking to have fun, just like everybody else.
